Day 14: NAPOWRIMO

I’ll be honest here, I wobbled, but I am righting that now. I had been writing this in my head on Thursday I promise, I’ll pinkie swear it and everything. I was at Sandbar’s fifteenth birthday where I happened to do a set in amongst the burlesque and music acts from Cirque du Manc, who are fabulous. However with any neo burlesque acts there comes from me at least and sometimes others some feminist confusion, but also delight in subversion, and celebration of the beauty and talent of many kinds of bodies these two pops (Jack Kerouac’s version of haiku) reflect that duality. for those of you not familiar with Rosie the Riveter:http://www.adcouncil.org/default.aspx?id=128

also that is pasties:http://www.agentprovocateur.com/accessories/pasties.html and not pasties: http://www.cornishpastyassociation.co.uk/ though I am sure they are some folk who would find a lady wearing the latter attractive…

and yes my key ring broke on my way home from that event and I am annoyed and considered it some kind of feminist omen…

Neo burlesque sometimes involves shimmying

in sparkling underwear stuffed with monopoly money

my Rosie the Riveter keyring broke

I preferred the rubber pig

headed women phallused as Roman comedic actors

furry googly pasties eyeing subversion
