Stirred: Shatter

The theme of mirrors was a really inspirational one, with special guest Shirley May scribbling away on the night to create a piece to read in her slot, The Reflection.

There were two other responses to the mirror theme which I’ll share here, our host the Three Minute’s Theatre’s Gina Frost wrote this short piece which was really lovely:

Oh how the weight of poison will dissolve with the energy of souls amassed in the world we live in.

Release fumes for all to inhale into new life, new life imbued by two years of fear, sadness, mistakes and unruly arrogance

Hello new energy – dance on the clouds of souls waiting to enter a magic world

Thank you mirrors for reflecting what we need to reflect

Thanks so much to 3MT Gina and John for showing us such support, and being so on board with our messages!

Open micer Angela Smith also responded to the theme and tied it in with a NaPoWriMo prompt, the repetitive nature of the poem really tied in well with the constant shifting reflection, carrying us through to the conclusion. I’m also really happy she made Stirred as she wasn’t feeling too well on the night, as were quite  a few others so having all that support for Stirred: Mirrors was really brilliant.

Next Stirred’s theme is Frida Kahlo, which hopefully will be just as inspiring. Click on image to go to facebook event.
