Stirred: Sylvia&Anne Performance Night

Hello all,

Here we go with the amazingness that was Sylvia&Anne. Inspiring guests and amazing open micers including: Sarah L Dixon, Andrew Lawson, Sophie, Wendy Olson, Chris Moore, Rob Dunford and Lynn.

The playlist of the videos from the night is up, in particular Sarah L Dixon responds to Anne Sexton, Anna Percy responds to Lady Lazarus and we have some deep felt material from the guests. Firstly here is Abi Hynes reading her poem Not Thin, created in response to a prompt from 52 Blog, a blog with a prompt for every week of the year. She found inspiration from number 38 which you can find here. Abi’s set was finely tuned, she was an inspiring presence and we are really happy to have had her perform her first guest set at Stirred. Do check out her night First Draft here.

Nextly we have some collaborative work from Lenni Sanders and Jasmine Chatfield. There are no words to describe their words, they worked together to create Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton inspired poetry, apocalyptic, in places ethereal, covering sex clinics and jars of conkers. Have a listen here and there’s more of everyone on the Stirred Playlist:

You can also find all of the poetry written on the night here.

The next Stirred is on 27th October, we’d love to see you there responding to our theme of Witches.
