Stirred this November, Monday 24th has a theme of Galaxies.
We are looking into stardust and exploding planets for the theme of Galaxies. We love it when people respond to the theme and will be running a workshop this coming Monday 10th November at Kim by the Sea, 6-8 and posting prompts and results from that.
Open mic at Stirred is an inclusive welcoming space to try out new work or work in development, work in collaboration or showcase your practised piece. £1/2 donations welcomed. You can find us at the 3MT here.
Clara Arriage enjoys herself as much as others do. She is a poet, comic and bitch-hiker on the motorway of life who sleeps with the lights on and nothing else. She loves tea and bad language.
Loz is an angry genderqueer feminist performance poet who writes about queerness, disability, gender and space, and spends the rest of their time playing games and quietly plotting for the revolution. Loz recently graduated Manchester University with an MA in Gender, Sexuality and Culture and is a trustee of grassroots charity Action for Trans Health, and a member of queer performance collective Queer of the Unknown. Please see their recent article for Action for Trans Health here and below their performance at Stirred: Frida Kahlo-

Anna Percy and Rebecca Audra Smith will be running a creative writing workshop concentrating on utilising techniques from surreal, experimental and found poetry to explore misunderstanding. How do we translate what we know into what we say, what is lost in translation and what is gained? How do we misunderstand our environment, our sensory experience, others and our own minds? We will be using texts from a range of found sources. Donations of £1/2 kindly received, this workshop is in collaboration with As We Are Away festival and ties into experience of mental health issues.
