Stirred: Stardust and Mud

Winning Entries from Stirred: Galaxies

 Stardust

 hands

We’re told we’re made of stardust

To make us feel grand

Important

Infinite

Your body’s made of stardust

You fuel the vessel of yourself with stardust

Stardust apples grow bright and strong

From the branches of stardust trees

You ingest them, they become a part of you

Fill your stardust life with your stardust dreams…

But knives are made of stardust

The boot that kicks you is made of stardust

Racism spews from stardust lips

And bullets fly from stardust guns

Stardust parents throw stardust children out into

Stardust streets under stardust skies

And stardust tears fall from stardust eyes

Lying in the gutter

Looking up at the stars

You feel no warmth

And sometimes I think

I don’t want to be stardust

And I think it’s ok, sometimes

To just be mud.

Space is an extended metaphor for my cunt

Every 28 days I bleed, imagine my uterus whispering ‘for communism’

Dark matter matters more

I can write absolute bullshit as long as I read it in my poetry voice. Supernova.
