Poetry Night

Our regular Stirred Poetry spoken word and open mic takes place on the last Monday of the month at the lovely Three Minute Theatre on the ground floor of Afflecks’ in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Every night has its own particular theme, but there is no need to stick to it – all woman-friendly feminist poetry is welcome!

Our two guests each perform a ten to twenty minute set. The first portion of the night is the open mic, where performers have five minutes to share either one or two poems. We really like it when poets on the open mic read a poem written by a woman in celebration of her work, so you’re totally welcome to accompany a poem of your own with a poem by another poet if you want to – or you’re welcome to read two of your own.

You can see a list of our upcoming nights here on our events calendar page.

Here are our policy documents regarding performance at Stirred, please read these if you have any questions around performing on the night. Open mic slots are available, please see details in downloadable guidelines below.
